Louisiana State University seeks a Licensed NFPA Fire Sprinkler & Suppression Inspector/Technician to assure code compliance and reliable operation of campus fire protection systems in Baton Rouge. Responsibilities include inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and related systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and documenting commercial water-based fire protection systems.
Experience with NFPA 25 and applicable state/local codes.
Valid driver’s license; MVR check; drug screening requirements.
Safety-sensitive and emergency essential position; subject to timelines and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and related systems across campus.
Complete and file inspection reports and testing documentation using CMMS and inspection software.
Coordinate system impairments, shutdowns, and emergency repairs with facilities to minimize disruption.
Interpret fire protection drawings and NFPA codes to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain licenses, certifications, and safety training per OSHA and university policies.
