Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Sprinkler Install Technician in the Baton Rouge area to independently install fire sprinkler systems, interpret blueprints, and ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes. The role requires strong technical competency and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and NICET Level I or higher preferred; driving may be required for travel to sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years experience in fire and life safety as apprentice or technician.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Strong understanding of installation practices.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform installation of fire sprinkler systems.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for installation projects.
• Use hand tools and installation equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local codes.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation and installation reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Support and assist entry-level technicians and apprentices as needed.
