Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Transition Registered Nurse (RN) for the Newborn Nursery. You will coordinate direct patient care, advocate for newborns after delivery, and monitor newborn stability during the transition period.

The role requires at least 1 year of RN experience and 1 year in Newborn/Mother Baby/NICU settings; BLS/NRP certifications are required by policy. BSN preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN.
• 1 year of experience in Newborn, Mother Baby, NICU, or Newborn Transition care setting.
• Second skill set can include Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, and/or NICU.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct patient care for newborns during transition.
• Attend deliveries to advocate for newborn needs after delivery.
• Complete initial head-to-toe assessment and ongoing assessments during the two-hour transition period.
• Administer medications and monitor newborn stability, including blood glucose and SaO2.
