Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Transition Registered Nurse (RN) in the Newborn Nursery to coordinate and provide direct patient care during the two-hour transition after delivery.

The role requires assessing newborns, assisting with Apgar scoring, feeding decisions, and mentoring Labor and Delivery/Mother Baby nurses during busy periods. Texas RN license, BLS, NRP, and NLN-accredited nursing program graduate are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN
• 1 year of experience in Newborn, Mother Baby, NICU, or Newborn Transition care
• Second skill-set can include L&D, M/B, and/or NICU

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct patient care in the newborn transition period
• Attend deliveries and advocate for newborn needs
• Assess newborn and mother during the two-hour transition, administer meds and monitor vitals
• Mentor Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby Nurses during busy times
