The University of Nevada, Reno is seeking a Newborn Screening Manager for the Nevada State Public Health Laboratory. This role coordinates the Newborn Screening Analytical Program and provides daily oversight of NSPHL sections, ensuring LIMS processes are tested and documented before use.

You will train staff, assess competencies, participate in proficiency testing, and help with long-range planning. The Manager serves as a technical consultant to hospitals statewide and promotes NSPHL

Competenze

Bachelor’s degree and four years of related work experience or master’s degree and two years related work experience.
Management/supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory setting, i.e., Newborn Screening Lab.
State of Nevada lab personnel certification as General Supervisor or ability to obtain within three months.

Mansioni

Coordinate and administer the Newborn Screening Analytical Program for statewide clients.
Provide daily oversight and supervision of NSPHL sections and monitor performance measures.
Ensure LIMS processes are tested and validated before production use and properly documented.
Train staff, conduct competency assessments, and participate in national proficiency testing programs.
Partner in long-range planning and act as Technical Consultant for hospitals and birth centers statewide.
