The University of Massachusetts Medical School seeks a Team Lead to manage day-to-day technical and administrative activities in the newborn screening laboratory. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate testing from receipt to analysis, and work with scientists to implement new methodologies and quality protocols.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, life or clinical sciences or equivalent.
• 5 years of relevant experience including clinical laboratory experience.
• Must satisfy CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
• Skilled in clear communications and maintenance of good working relationships with co-workers.
• Experience with productivity software (Excel, Access, Word).

Mansioni

• Oversees scheduling and work activities of Lab Analysts for accurate testing and reporting.
• Supervises laboratory activities for development, validation, and troubleshooting of assays.
• supervises validation and maintenance of instrumentation and its LIMS relationships.
• Maintains QA/QC documentation in accordance with CLIA policies and safety protocols.
• Instructs staff on test methodologies and ensures compliance with safety requirements.
