Job summary

The University of Massachusetts Medical School seeks a Team Lead to manage day-to-day technical and administrative activities in the newborn screening laboratory. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, life or clinical sciences or equivalent.
• 5 years of relevant experience including clinical laboratory experience.
• Must satisfy CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.
• Skilled in clear communications and maintenance of good working relationships with co-workers.
• Experience with productivity software (Excel, Access, Word).

Responsibilities

• Oversees scheduling and work activities of Lab Analysts for accurate testing and reporting.
• Supervises laboratory activities for development, validation, and troubleshooting of assays.
• supervises validation and maintenance of instrumentation and its LIMS relationships.
• Maintains QA/QC documentation in accordance with CLIA policies and safety protocols.
• Instructs staff on test methodologies and ensures compliance with safety requirements.
