Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screening Technician for per diem day shifts in Boston. The role uses an automated screener to test newborns, reports results to parents and clinicians, and coordinates follow-up care as needed.

The position also supports data management and occasional charge entry in the clinical system, with a focus on accurate documentation and teamwork within the nursery setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0–1 years related work experience required.
• Experience with computer systems and Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, locate, and transport newborns who need screenings.
• Document results in medical records and inform staff/parents of results.
• Schedule follow-up hearing evaluations as needed.
• Maintain equipment and supply distribution across locations.
• Assist in hearing screening data and charge entry in the clinical system.
