Job summary

Demant's Hearing Screening Associates is seeking a part-time Newborn Hearing Screening Technician to support the NICU and well-baby units at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. You will perform newborn hearing screens, educate parents, and record results, helping identify and intervene for newborn hearing loss before discharge.

Work hours include alternating weekends and one weekday per week, with 8:00 a.m. start times and shifts of 4–6 hours, totaling about 12–18 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year healthcare or childcare training/experience, or related college curriculum is a plus.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to function independently in a high-paced environment.
• Ability to attend all company-provided training.
• Willingness and ability to learn and operate hearing screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screenings on all infants in the well Baby and NICU units, prior to discharge; coordinate post-discharge follow-up as needed.
• Work directly with nursing staff, patients, and parents to communicate relevance of hearing screening and early identification.
• Analyze and communicate responses to situations in line with company and customer needs.
• Maintain and use hearing screening equipment; assist with database management.
• Interact with hospital departments; follow policies and procedures of HSA, hospitals, and departments.
• Uphold the code of conduct and compliance policies.
• After training, have knowledge of TEOAE and/or ABR instrumentation.
• All other duties as assigned.
