Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and educate families on the importance of early detection and intervention. On-the-job training with annual American Academy of Audiology-certified certification is provided.

Responsibilities include screening eligible babies, collecting data, documenting results, and coordinating referrals for follow-up care as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• Entry level with 1–3 months of experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hearing screens for newborns in-hospital settings.
• Provide education to parents on the relevance of newborn hearing screens and early intervention.
• Ensure data/demographics are collected and screens are documented per protocol.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisor on missed screens and referrals as needed.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
