Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns in Cape Coral, Florida. The role involves on-site work at one or more hospital locations, data entry, and parent education, with a focus on timely intervention and follow-up for referred cases.

The position offers on-the-job training, annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology, and opportunities to work within Pediatrix & Obstetrix’s comprehensive care

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

• Demonstrate sensitivity when speaking to family and when handling patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Educate parents about the relevance of hearing screens and early intervention.
• Ensure data collection and documentation accuracy for each baby.
• Submit screen results and state reporting by end of shift.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisor regarding missed referrals and follow-ups.
