Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens on-site, ensuring accurate data collection and family education. Training is provided, including annual American Academy of Audiology certification, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and timely reporting.

The role requires flexibility to work weekends and holidays, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness prior to performing a screen.
• Collect all necessary data/demographics; perform the hearing screen and related services.
• Educate families about the necessity of the screen and post-screen steps.
• Upload screen results, billing, and state reporting by end of each shift.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies; perform other duties as assigned.
