Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform newborn hearing screenings at hospital locations, with on-the-job training and American Academy of Audiology certification.

Responsibilities include performing screens, educating families, documenting results, and coordinating follow-up when needed. The role requires weekend availability and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with extensive patient interaction. This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required or obtained upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.
• One to three months of prior newborn and medical setting experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk most of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on the relevance and importance of early intervention.
• Evaluate patient readiness for screening.
• Collect data/demographics and document results.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when needed.
• Notify supervisor of missed and referred babies.
• Upload results and state reporting by end of each shift.
