Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screenings on-site, with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification. The role involves data collection, parent education, and coordination of follow-up care across hospital locations.

Ideal candidates have an entry-level healthcare background, strong communication, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate each patient for “screen readiness” prior to performing a screen; screen only when ready for reliable results.
• Perform the hearing screen and related services for all eligible babies during each shift and collect demographics.
• Upload screen results/billing/state reporting by end of shift and ensure data is complete and reconciled.
• Educate families about the necessity of the screen and what to do with results.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate.
