Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns and provide parent education. On-the-job training includes annual certification by the American Academy of Audiology, with on-site work at one or more hospital locations.

Responsibilities include conducting screens, ensuring readiness, accurate data collection, documentation, and timely reporting. Requires flexibility for weekends/holidays and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

• The Hearing Screen Technician (HST) performs hearing screens and provides education to parents on the relevance of hearing screens and the importance of early intervention.
• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including PPE, vaccinations and safety protocols; escalate questions to HS Manager as appropriate.
• Evaluate patient for screen readiness and ensure reliable results.
• Collect data/demographics, perform screens, and document results for each baby.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of shift; reconcile stats as instructed.
• Conduct screens efficiently without sacrificing education or satisfaction.
• Provide information to the responsible party and educate parents on next steps depending on results.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies; schedule outpatient follow-ups as needed.
