Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an on-site Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens for newborns in hospital settings. On-the-job training and American Academy of Audiology certification are provided to enhance early detection and intervention for hearing loss.

You will collect patient data, ensure readiness for screening, educate families, and report results at the end of each shift, supporting hospital staff and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including PPE, vaccinations and safety protocols.
• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness prior to performing a screen.
• Collect all necessary data/demographics for each baby; perform the hearing screen and related services.
• Educate parents on the importance of screening and early intervention.
• Upload screen results/billing/state reporting by end of each shift; reconcile stats.
• Perform screens efficiently without compromising quality or patient education.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed or final refer babies; schedule outpatient follow-ups when needed.
• Schedule Outpatient appointment for refer babies, where appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
