At Memorial Regional Medical Center, we’re passionate about our incredible nursing staff. We’re honored they’ve chosen to share their talent for compassionate care with our patients. We’re also looking to grow that team with outstanding new-to-practice Nurses who’ve answered a higher calling to care for others. The Accelerated Clinical Education (ACE) Program is a 12-week program designed specifically to support the new-to-practice Nurse in preparation for an RN bedside role. ACE will help you find the area you are passionate about, without the added stress of being alone. The continuing education and the ability to work with an experienced nurse provides you with confidence to ask questions, admit what you don’t know, and try things you’ve only read about.

The Experience: Candidates are exposed to multiple units and observation experiences throughout the program. Educators, along with preceptors and Nurse Directors, assess each participant’s clinical progress to match their best fit within the facility. All new hires will be required to work a combination of 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts to align with their preceptor’s schedule for up to 40 hours per week, including weekends.

Primary Function

Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines patient problems/needs, and evaluates the care process and outcomes. Coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and the care provided by the health team.

Essential Job Functions
  • Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessments in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Creates a plan of care, implements treatments, and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Administers medications safely according to policies and practices.
  • Acts as a point of contact for patient care coordination across hospital departments.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to promote patient safety.
  • Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery.
Skills
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practices and innovations.
  • Strong nursing judgment based on sciences.
  • Application of the nursing process in patient care.
  • Coordination and evaluation of patient care and professional practice.
