Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Building Based Mentor to support and empower new-to-district educators through tailored, non-evaluative mentorship. This role aims to boost teacher retention and ensure high-quality learning experiences.

You will work closely with building principals and district leaders to provide actionable feedback, focus on instructional practices, classroom culture, and collaboration during NT Pre-service and ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience in Cedar Rapids Community Schools

Responsibilities

• Provide professional practices feedback and actionable guidance to new-to-district teachers
• Collaborate with building leadership and teachers to support mentorship
• Engage in job-embedded professional development for new-to-district teachers
• Support policies and procedures through building and district queries
• Participate in professional learning focused on supporting new teachers to the profession or district
• Assist with program coordination and time outside of contract hours
