Job description

Visionary Homes is looking for a Superintendent to work onsite in our Cache County, UT communities.

A Superintendent's primary responsibility is to manage all functions of the job site as it relates to home construction while providing excellent customer service. The Superintendent manages the construction of multiple homes from permit to closing by supervising job site subcontractors, homeowner walk-throughs, and inspections while maintaining company construction and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan and direct construction activities on the building site
  2. Complete each home site on schedule from planning through occupancy, ensuring all contract obligations are satisfied
  3. Approve work being performed by subcontractors and handle any related issues
  4. Authorize payment of subcontractors upon thorough inspection of work
  5. Maintain a safe work site by implementing safety requirements and good housekeeping regulations, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any state-level agencies’ regulations
  6. Maintain compliance with all applicable building codes
  7. Verify all checklists are completed and inspections are scheduled and passed
  8. Conduct homeowner orientation and any re-walks ensuring homeowner satisfaction
  9. Recognize and enforce quality standards through daily inspection of homes under construction
  10. Monitor subdivision cleanliness and hold subcontractors responsible for daily clean-up
  11. Schedule and manage subcontractors to make designated warranty repairs
  12. Follow up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
  13. Conduct all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  14. Develop and maintain good rapport with subcontractors, homeowners, city officials, and inspectors
  15. Execute company policies and enforce uniformity in construction methods to ensure compliance with quality standards
  16. Suggest improvements within the system
  17. Must be able to work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs. This is an exempt position.

Qualifications/Education/Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management or 3-5 years of related experience
  2. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities
  3. Ability to utilize Visionary Homes construction applications on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop
  4. Proficiency with MS Office and email
  5. OSHA 30 is not required prior to hire but will be an initial training requirement when hired
