Position Summary:
Terwilliger Center is an innovation hub within Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) that contributes to its mission of ensuring that everyone has a decent place to live. The purpose of TCIS is to influence market actors such as private companies, public officials, civil society, consumers, and households; supporting scalable and affordable housing solutions through their products and services.

Essential Duties:
- Construction Practices and Materials (50%)
- Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing initiatives related to construction practices in the region, in partnership with program specialists.
- Drive adoption of construction technologies that support families to build better and faster, liaising with technical leads to ensure integration of behavior change, labor, and housing finance systems approaches.
- Lead the development and implementation of initiatives related to new construction practices and materials.
- Serve as a technical expert for external stakeholders including private sector partners, start-ups, incubators/accelerators, government agencies, and industry bodies.
- Support the MEAL team in developing construction practice and quality indicators, data collection tools, etc.
- Identify and support partnerships with market actors to test and apply innovative construction technologies and practices for low-income households.
- Research (25%)
- Conduct sector-specific assessments and make expert recommendations for activities improving housing practices.
- Evaluate new or alternative construction practices and materials for piloting at scale.
- Learning (15%)
- Serve as a construction technical expert for global and regional learning initiatives, including labor, climate, and healthy housing.
- Participate in global task forces and communities of practice.
- Assist in collecting and synthesizing data with the global MEAL team to understand construction systems that improve affordable housing.
- Represent TCIS in construction-related discussions with AO and NO experts.
- Support Resource Mobilization (10%)
- Lead technical review of proposals to ensure alignment with construction practices, materials, and market systems approaches.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in civil engineering, construction management, or architecture.
- 7 years of relevant experience.
- Practical experience in construction project planning, execution, and management.
- Understanding of and ability to assess construction materials, technologies, and practices.
- Ability to optimize construction operations and procedures.
- Skills in developing financial plans and managing resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring and collaborating across diverse partners.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills, capable of articulating technical subjects clearly and engagingly.
- Understanding of housing systems, market systems development, small business development, and financial inclusion programming.
