JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Construction Administrator I

Status: Exempt / Non-Exempt

Positions Supervised: None

Location: Remote (with regular travel to project sites)

POSITION OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for supporting the Bidding/Negotiation and Construction Administration phases of architectural projects. The position involves fieldwork and coordination with internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure successful project execution and compliance with all applicable processes and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with in-office Construction Administration team regarding project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and field reports.
  • Conduct regular site visits as required; document and distribute field observation reports.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to address field issues and provide clarifications.
  • Assist with review and processing of submittals as directed.
  • Monitor contractual compliance across contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Represent the firm at Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
  • Participate in pre-bid conferences and bid openings, both virtually and in person, as needed.
  • Contribute to bid certification processes as a firm representative.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure high-quality, accurate technical documentation and work.
  • Track and submit time daily; review and ensure timely entry of project time data by others when applicable.
  • Work with supervisor to create and pursue a customized training and development plan.
  • Comply with all company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years of construction field experience required.
  • Familiarity with public bidding procedures, especially within Alabama, is strongly preferred.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to project sites.
  • Strong knowledge of current building codes and ADA, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam is required.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Procore, Submittal Exchange, or similar is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
