Job summary

Interstates seeks an organized Lead Orientation Specialist to own our new hire journey from offer through initial training. You will coordinate schedules, instructors, facilities, and learning activities, and help new team members understand our culture, safety expectations, and business operations.

You’ll work across Recruiting, HR, IT, and operations as the central coordinator, build scalable workflows, report on completion and satisfaction, and drive improvements to ensure every newcomer

Qualifications

• One year of progressive experience in orientation, onboarding, learning and development, talent management, HR, workforce development, program management, or related area.
• Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Experience coordinating complex schedules, logistics, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise orientation program for professional, craft, and manufacturing team members.
• Coordinate the experience from offer acceptance through initial technical or craft training and transition into an assigned role.
• Plan and manage schedules, presenters, instructors, facilities, technology, materials, communications, travel, and learning activities.
• Facilitate orientation sessions and help new team members understand Interstates' culture, values, safety expectations, and business operations.
• Create a consistent experience while keeping each interaction personal and welcoming.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues that could affect the new team member experience.
• Ensure smooth handoffs into assigned teams, field roles, or shop positions.
• Serve as the central point of coordination for a wide range of partners, including: Recruiting, HR, Workforce Planning, Instructors, IT, Safety, Payroll, Hiring Leaders, and more.
• Gather input from new team members, leaders, instructors, and business partners.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and recommendations that show what is working and where we can improve.
• Build scalable workflows, resources, and standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate orientation technologies, systems, and processes and recommend improvements.
• Balance efficiency and operational needs with a high-quality new team member experience.
