Job summary

The Arc Prince George's County is seeking a Staff Development Specialist to coordinate and facilitate our New Hire Orientation program. The role includes preparing new hires for required online trainings, ensuring access, and tracking completion while supporting supervisors throughout the onboarding process.

The ideal candidate will maintain LMS records, stay current with DDA protocols, and assist in additional agency trainings while advancing staff learning and development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in adult educational settings; DDA training is a plus.
• 2–5 years of training delivery experience.
• Experience developing curriculums.
• Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Comfortable speaking in public forums.
• Excellent oral and written communications; strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in sensitive situations.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and personalities.
• Initiative, creativity in process improvement, and drive for results.
• Ability to work under pressure in a changing environment.
• Knowledge of LMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training activities with the Staff Development Manager.
• Facilitate biweekly, four-day New Staff Orientation, including evenings and weekends.
• Monitor training progress, maintain records, and communicate completion requirements.
• Update training databases, track attendance, and maintain communication logs.
• Notify Human Resources when new hires qualify for bonuses.
• Conduct training sessions and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
• Stay current on DDA training protocols and best practices.
• Attend MACS workshops and professional development conferences.
• Support coaching and development for frontline managers.
• Provide staff assistance and troubleshoot LMS and online training issues.
• Manage timesheets and coordinate training registrations for required programs.
