The Arc Prince George’s County is seeking a Staff Development Specialist to facilitate the 4-day New Hire Orientation and to ensure new hires complete required online trainings. The role involves coordinating instructor-led and online sessions, maintaining records, and supporting LMS issues.

You will collaborate with the Staff Development Manager, stay current on DDA protocols, and help train frontline managers while assisting with timesheet management and program registrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–5 years of experience conducting training.
• Experience developing curriculums.
• Experience in adult educational settings preferred.
• Familiarity with DDA trainings a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to public speak and train diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate training activities with the Staff Development Manager.
• Facilitate biweekly, four-day New Staff Orientation (occasional evenings/weekends).
• Monitor training progress, maintain records, and communicate completion requirements.
• Update training databases, track attendance, and maintain communication logs.
• Notify Human Resources when new hires qualify for bonuses.
• Conduct training sessions and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
• Stay current on DDA training protocols and industry best practices.
• Attend MACS workshops and professional development conferences.
• Support coaching and development for frontline managers.
• Provide staff assistance and troubleshoot LMS/training issues.
• Manage timesheets and coordinate registrations for CMT/MTTP, Mandt, CPR.
• Track Certified Medication Technician renewals with Nursing and the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Identify opportunities to improve training programs and departmental effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Staff Training Manager.
