Job summary

The Arc Prince George’s County is seeking a Staff Development Specialist to lead the four-day New Staff Orientation and related trainings. You will facilitate in-person sessions on safety, incident reporting, and Arc values while guiding new hires through required online trainings and access to LMS resources.

This role supports coaching and development for frontline managers, maintains training records, and stays current on DDA training protocols and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; experience in adult education is a plus.
• 2–5 years of training experience.
• Experience developing curriculums and training programs.
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Public speaking in front of peers, directors and staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Lead biweekly, four-day New Staff Orientation sessions, including evenings/weekends.
• Monitor and report on training progress; update records and systems.
• Maintain LMS and online training access; assist with issues.
• Coordinate training registrations for CPR, Mandt, and other certifications.
• Support managers and staff through coaching and development activities.
