Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) new graduate to join the Throughput Unit in Winston-Salem, NC. This 36-hour-per-week night shift position offers exposure to a wide range of diagnoses across a compact 10-bed unit and opportunities to contribute to patient flow and safety.

You will collaborate with the care team, participate in governance, maintain documentation, and develop professionally while complying with ANA ethics. BLS and RN licensure are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state where practicing (multi-state compact or single-state)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Graduate of a nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing
• BSN preferred and/or advanced nursing education as applicable

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit governance, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice improvements.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and coordinates with the care team.
• Maintains safety culture and adheres to ethical standards.
• Delivers medications and therapies per protocols and guidelines.
• Documents accurately in the EHR and communicates with patients and families.
