Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking an observation RN for the Throughput Unit in Winston-Salem, NC. The 10-bed unit handles diverse patient conditions from admissions to post-procedure recovery.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, unit-based governance, and continuous improvement with a focus on patient safety and quality care. The ideal candidate will participate in professional development, maintain licensure and BLS, and adapt to a fast-paced environment while ensuring accurate documentation

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where provided.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Licensure for telehealth per state requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practice.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate nursing care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety and maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols and procedures.
• May float to other units within the service area to meet patient needs.
