Job summary

Boston Medical Center welcomes new graduate nurses to a structured RN residency in the Surgical Step Down (IMCU) department. The program supports transition to practice with a four-month orientation, after which nurses advance to a Step Down unit.

The residency runs for March 2027 start, with a 36-hour night schedule. Candidates must have MA RN licensure, active BLS/CPR, and commit to the program and unit needs.

Qualifications

• Must be a newly graduated RN within 12 months of hire.
• Registered nurse licensed in Massachusetts with active MA license.
• Commitment of 2 years for critical care new grads; 1 year for other practice areas.

Responsibilities

• Nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care.
• Follow policies, procedures, and standards of practice; report to Unit Nurse Director.
• Participate in a four-month orientation and transition to practice program.
