Job summary

UNC Medical Center—Medicine Progressive Care Unit in Chapel Hill seeks a new graduate RN for a yearlong, structured transition-to-practice residency. The unit handles a mix of medical and pulmonary cases with potential vented patients, offering mentorship, unit-based orientation, and ongoing clinical support.

Position features 36 hours/week, rotating day/night shifts and weekends, with self-scheduling to balance needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree within seven years of employment date.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities
