The Johns Hopkins Hospital PICU is a 28-bed unit providing comprehensive pediatric critical care for patients from birth to 21 years old. New grads are supported through a Nurse Residency Program and training will be provided on the unit.

Job Details:

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital is a 28-bed unit providing comprehensive medical and surgical intensive care for children from birth to 21 years old. As Maryland’s only Level 1 pediatric trauma center and state-designated pediatric burn ICU, the PICU cares for children up to 15 years of age with complex diagnoses including respiratory failure, metabolic disorders, seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions, and neonatal and pediatric ECMO. Our surgical services encompass extensive general, cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, and neurologic procedures.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Nursing required
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required
• No RN work experience required! Training will be provided - pediatric critical care practicum/capstone/preceptorship preferred

Salary Range: Minimum $36.07/hour - Maximum $54.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
