Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City is seeking a Nursing Graduate to work under the direct supervision of an RN within the Same Day Surgery/PACU department. The role supports the nursing residency program and provides a path to RN licensure after 12 weeks, with eligibility for unlicensed entry pay during this period.

The position requires completion of an accredited RN program, BLS certification, and willingness to participate in the residency and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited RN education program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process under direct supervision of an RN.
• Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) and reports significant changes under the RN.
• Observes prioritization of patient needs and assists in the development of the care plan under RN supervision.
• Observes implementation of the plan of care, addressing patient needs including physical, emotional, and social factors, under RN supervision.
• Reports patient responses to treatments and collaborates with the RN on changes to nursing interventions.
• Participates in patient/family education under RN supervision and communicates with the care team as needed.
• Maintains accountability for patient care delivery within the defined role and discusses care with the RN.
• Recognizes ethical responsibilities and complies with regulatory standards while pursuing RN licensure.
