Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine's Heme Malignancy and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit is a 15-bed oncology unit where RNs care for patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing bone marrow transplants. New graduate RNs enter a yearlong Nurse Residency Program to facilitate a smooth transition into professional nursing practice.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an active Maryland or compact RN license.
  • Associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Care for patients with hematologic malignancies undergoing bone marrow transplant.
  • Support patients and families through the transplant process.
  • Participate in our Nurse Residency Program for new grads.

Job description

The Heme Malignancy and Bone Marrow Tranplant Unit(Weinberg 5D)is a 15-bed oncologyunit. Registered Nurses (RNs) on this unit you will care for patients with hematological malignancies who are receiving bone marrow transplants. Our hematologic malignancy and hematology patients have access to some of the most innovative and advanced therapies in the world. Because Kimmel Cancer Center research scientists and clinicians closely work together, new drugs and treatments developed in the research laboratory are quickly transferred to the clinical setting, offering patients improved therapeutic options and the chance to participate in innovative clinical trials.

All New Graduate RNs will be automatically enrolled in our yearlong accredited Nurse Residency Program to facilitate your successful transition into professional nursing practice.
