Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore invites newly licensed registered nurses to join the Hematologic Malignancies Oncology Unit, a 16-bed inpatient team providing care to adults with hematologic cancers undergoing intensive chemotherapy.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Nursing required.
  • Applicants with an Associate’s degree may be considered if enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete within 4 years.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
  • BLS CPR certification required.
  • No RN work experience required; Nurse Residency Program available for new grads.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to adult oncology patients on the Hematologic Malignancies Oncology Unit.
  • Care for patients with acute leukemia and other hematologic malignancies receiving intensive chemotherapy.
  • Participate in use of innovative therapies and clinical trials through collaboration with the Kimmel Cancer Center.

Job description

Job Details:

The Hematologic Malignancies Oncology Unitis a 16-bed inpatient unit that provides medical care to adult oncology patients. On this unit, Registered Nurses (RNs) will care for patients with acute leukemia and other hematological malignancies that are receiving intensive chemotherapy regimens. Our hematologic malignancy and hematology patients have access to some of the most innovative and advanced therapies in the world. Because Kimmel Cancer Center research scientists and clinicians closely work together, new drugs and treatments developed in the research laboratory are quickly transferred to the clinical setting, offering patients improved therapeutic options and the chance to participate in innovative clinical trials. Qualifications:


  • Associate degree in Nursing required
