Job summary

Carbon Health in Novato, California invites new graduates in NP or PA to join our urgent care fellowship. This physician-founded program offers hands-on training, mentorship, and a fast-paced environment delivering high-quality acute care.

You will perform exams, order and interpret tests, manage triage, and participate in procedures under supervision. Successful applicants will have NP or PA degrees and state licensure; DOT and BLS certifications are encouraged before start.

Qualifications

• NP certification and valid state license required
• PA: Medical/Master’s degree with license and national certification
• DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification before employment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care in urgent care settings.
• Order and interpret X-ray, labs, and EKGs.
• Triage patients to maintain smooth flow and reduce wait times.
• Perform regional anesthesia and minor procedures (wounds, I&D, foreign body removal).
• Carry out diagnostic/therapeutic procedures (joint injections, aspirations).
• Manage simple fractures reductions and pediatric reductions.
• Apply braces and orthopedic devices as needed

Fellow Compensation: $104,000 annually + benefits

What You'll Learn

• Provide exceptional treatment, collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment
• Order and interpret x-rays, lab results and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
• Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reductions
• Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances

About You

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start
