Carbon Health in San Jose, CA invites applications for an Urgent Care Fellow. This program targets recent graduates in NP/PA tracks, offering hands-on acute care experience, mentorship, and a structured educational path within a dynamic startup changing healthcare delivery.

The fellowship provides a competitive annual compensation of $104,000 plus benefits, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available after successful completion.

Formación

• PA/NP credentials and licensure required
• DOT certification prior to start date
• BLS certification prior to employment start

Responsabilidades

• Provide exceptional treatment and collaborative care within urgent care scope
• Order and interpret X-rays, labs, and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients to maintain steady flow and reduce wait times
• Perform regional anesthesia and minor surgical procedures (wound care, I&D)
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (joint injections, aspirations)
• Manage fractures and reductions in appropriate cases
• Apply and adjust braces, splints, and orthopedic devices

What You\'ll Learn

• Provide exceptional treatment, collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment
• Order and interpret x-rays, lab results and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
• Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reductions
• Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances

About You

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start
