Qualifications

• Must hold active state license for NP or PA.
• NP must have RN license and NP certification.
• PA must hold Medical/Master’s degree and state PA license.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment, assessments, diagnosis and management in urgent care.
• Order and interpret X-rays, labs and EKGs.
• Triage patients to maintain smooth flow and reduce wait times.
• Perform digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor procedures (wounds, I&D).
• Perform joint/soft tissue injections and minor fracture reductions.
• Apply braces, splints, and orthopedic devices.

What You'll Learn

• Provide exceptional treatment, collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment
• Order and interpret x-rays, lab results and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
• Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reductions
• Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances

About You

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start
