Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a new grad urgent care fellowship in San Francisco, CA. This full-time fellowship offers hands-on clinical experience with mentorship and a hands-on approach to acute care medicine.

You will rotate through chaperoned clinical shifts, perform procedures, and participate in a structured educational curriculum designed to launch your urgent care career within a dynamic startup setting.

Qualifications

• NP license with national certification
• PA license with national certification
• Willingness to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional urgent care treatment, examinations, diagnosis and treatment.
• Order and interpret x-rays, labs, and EKGs.
• Triage and manage patients to maintain efficient flow.

Fellow Compensation: $104,000 annually + benefits

What You'll Learn

• Provide exceptional treatment, collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment
• Order and interpret x-rays, lab results and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
• Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid's elbow reductions
• Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances

About You

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master's degree with a valid state license and national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start
