In this hands-on role, you’ll help develop manufacturable hardware while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to bring concepts from idea to deployment, applying CAD, modeling, and testing to optimize performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering designing and prototyping mechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or related field.
• Graduating by Summer 2027 (bachelor’s, master’s or PhD).

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and development of subsystem hardware from early CAD concepts to prototypes and mass production.
• Integrate mechanical systems with sensors, actuators, and embedded control hardware.
• Lead hands-on testing and iterate hardware based on performance feedback.
• Drive manufacturability, part selection, and tolerance stack-up for scalable production.
• Apply thermal, structural, and materials fundamentals to lightweight designs.
• Contribute to test plans, documentation, and engineering reviews.
• Run analytical modeling and simulations to evaluate performance and guide decisions.
• Support milestones with extended hours or weekends.
