Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Ground Systems Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and deploy ground systems for safe transport, handling, storage, launch, and operation of next‑gen defense platforms.

You will own CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and analyses, collaborating with manufacturing, test, and operations teams through the hardware lifecycle, from concept to prototype and field-ready hardware.

Qualifications

4+ years of mechanical engineering experience with hands-on hardware development.
3D modeling with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks) including GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
End-to-end hardware development from concept through fabrication, assembly and testing.
Translate operational needs into practical mechanical designs and analyses.

Responsibilities

Own mechanical design and development of ground systems and GSE.
Create, maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and technical docs.
Perform first-order calculations for structures, mechanisms, and load-bearing components.
Collaborate with manufacturing, test, propulsion, avionics, and operations to define interfaces.
Support fabrication, assembly, installation, commissioning, and testing.
Author analyses, test plans, and maintenance documentation.
