Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own mechanism development from concept through production. You will design, prototype, test, and release complex mechanisms for aerospace and defense platforms, working with cross-functional teams to meet performance, mass, and environmental requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in mechanical design of moving mechanism systems, strong CAD skills (NX/SolidWorks), and solid GD&T knowledge per ASME

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing and prototyping moving, mechanism systems.
• Strong skills in 3D modeling with CAD tools (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) including drafting and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals including kinematics, force and torque transmission, bearings and joints, fits and clearances, tolerance stack-ups, and structural load paths.

Aufgaben

• Own the mechanical design and development of mechanisms, from early CAD concepts to functional prototypes, drawing releases including GD&T, and mass production.
• Design and analyze linkages, pivots, joints, bearings, shafts, gears, cams, latches, hinges, deployable assemblies and other mechanisms.
• Define requirements for actuators, motors, and other drive systems to meet profiles, torques, speeds, and positioning.
• Drive manufacturability, part selection, and tolerance stack-up decisions (GD&T) for scalable production.
• Design fixtures and tooling to manufacture, assemble, inspect, qualify, and test mechanism assemblies.
• Perform analytical modeling and simulation (kinematics and FEA) to evaluate mechanism performance and inform trade studies.
• Work cross functionally to establish mechanism requirements, schedules, and ICDs.
• Ability to support development milestones including extended hours/weekends as needed.
