Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The New Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business and increasing profitable sales by closing deals within an assigned territory. This role involves seeking out new customers through promoting solutions and services, leveraging personal and network connections to gain entry into prospects, and closing sales with signed contractual agreements that support organizational growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop medium to long-term sales plans to grow sales and expand the customer base.
  2. Identify potential prospects through research, networking, and cold calling within the assigned geographic area.
  3. Use the company's sales process and tools to pursue appointments with viable prospects.
  4. Qualify and prioritize prospective customers, managing a sales cycle of 6-18 months.
  5. Deliver personalized presentations to decision-makers to secure multi-year agreements.
  6. Provide insights and consultative solutions to customers.
  7. Review proposals, prepare sales contracts, and facilitate closing processes.
  8. Maintain a robust sales pipeline and manage prospects through the sales cycle.
  9. Prepare reports on transactions, prospects, and contractual information.
  10. Keep CRM system updated with accurate data on prospects and communications.
  11. Stay informed about market conditions and the competitive environment.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  1. B.S. Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Previous industrial sales experience or industry knowledge is a plus.
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to manage own schedule.
  4. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in presenting to groups and persuasive sales techniques.
  6. Strong listening, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  7. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  8. Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  9. Comfort with data analysis, graphs, and statistics.
  10. Valid driver’s license with an approved driving record.
  11. Up to 60% travel required.
Compensation and Benefits:

Starting at $70,000, with potential bonuses based on organizational performance. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holidays, and additional perks.
