Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to serve as a liaison for the neurosurgery clinic. You will coordinate patient needs assessments, verify insurance, manage registrations, and schedule appointments within a multidisciplinary team.

Working Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, you will support physicians, streamline communication among patients, providers, and billing, and help ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent working knowledge.
• Minimum of three years in a hospital or medical office.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.
• Excellent communication, human relations, and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with payer contracts, insurance processes, and authorization workflows.
• Proficiency with common office software and hospital software for intake and scheduling.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient intake and pre-registration; determine initial authorizations needed based on care plan.
• Obtain and document patient insurance details; verify benefits for inpatient/outpatient as needed.
• Provide administrative support: documents, reports, spreadsheets, and records in EMR/billing systems.
• Schedule physician appointments, tests, procedures, and surgeries; provide preparation instructions.
• Act as liaison between patient, billing, and payor to optimize accounts receivable.
• Assist in maintaining medical records and ensure compliance with state/federal laws.
