Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Patient Care Coordinator in Neurology for our Scottsdale location. You will guide patients and families through administrative aspects, from intake and insurance verification to scheduling and documentation, ensuring a seamless care journey.

You will work closely with the clinical care team to coordinate care across the continuum, resolve issues, and support resources to maintain optimal patient care from first appointment through treatment completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• 3+ years in a hospital or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal relations and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake and registration coordination across the care continuum.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain required authorizations.
• Document patient information accurately in EMR and billing systems.
• Schedule appointments, tests and procedures; provide prep instructions.
• Serve as liaison between patients, billing, providers and payors.
• Support patient experience with proactive problem solving and scheduling.
• Coordinate medical records and respond to referral requests as needed.
