Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking Advanced Practice Providers to join the Department of Neurosurgery. The role offers broad clinical exposure and opportunities to develop specialized expertise within a dynamic academic environment.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Nursing with clinical specialization required.
• Two years work experience as an RN required.
• Current licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
• Must have demonstrated effective skills in consultation.
• Certification as an NP in the area of practice specialization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative care to patients with neurosurgical conditions.
• Conduct patient evaluations, develop care plans, and manage preoperative and postoperative follow-up in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Perform inpatient rounds and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Assist with clinical interventions as appropriate to training, credentialing, and assigned specialty.
• Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams to support continuity and timely access to services.
• Participate in quality improvement, program development, education, and other departmental initiatives.
• Support the department’s clinical, academic, and educational missions.
• Participate in teaching of residents, fellows, and students
• Contribute to clinical research, database management, or outcomes tracking, depending on interest and program needs
• Support departmental educational and academic missions
