Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified to provide comprehensive care during office visits, including intake, testing, meds administration, and closing care gaps. The role emphasizes patient-centered service and supports multiple providers within the clinic.

Responsibilities include performing point-of-care tests, documenting results in EMR, ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance, and aiding in registration and scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting is required.
• CMA or RMA certification from an accredited body is required.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card is required prior to start date and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point of care testing (urine dipstick, blood glucose, etc.) and conducts clinical intake (vital signs, histories, meds).
• Administers medications per provider orders, documenting per the 6 Rights of Medication Administration.
• Maintains supplies and equipment; coordinates medical supply ordering with site manager.
• Sets up patients for examination with prior notes and test results for provider review.
• Performs POCT and specimen collection as directed; reports lab and imaging results to providers.
• Ensures safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance; documents adverse events and quality measures.
• Maintains patient flow and supports registration, checkout, and scheduling as needed.
• Answers calls and messages; acts as liaison between support services and clinical divisions.
• Provides patient education and follow-up to ensure engagement in care and culturally responsive communication.
