Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified dedicated to delivering comprehensive care during office visits. You will perform intake, vital signs, testing, and support with patient education, while adhering to HIPAA and OSHA standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a CMA or RMA and an AHA BLS card, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong customer service skills. This is a full-time, on-site position in Florida, supporting diverse patient needs within our clinics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from AAMA/AMT/NAHP/NCCT/ARMA/AMCA.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point of care testing such as urine dipstick, blood glucose, etc.
• Arranges and administers medications as ordered by provider using the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Assists in stocking and orders supplies and maintains equipment and coordinates medical supply ordering with site manager.
• Sets up patients for examination and pre-work for provider including notes, results, and imaging.
• Performs point of care testing and/or specimen collection as directed by provider.
• Tracks and communicates lab and study results to patients and providers via calls, portal messages, or EMR.
• Follows safety policies including infection prevention, OSHA, and HIPAA, and maintains documentation.
• Maintains patient flow after check-ins and coordinates with Licensed Practitioner.
• Provides coverage in other Health First Medical Group areas including registration and scheduling.
• Answers calls and directs messages, ensures documentation in EMR, and liaises between services.
