Job summary

Health First is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to deliver comprehensive patient care during office visits, including intake, vitals, tests, and medication administration, with a focus on patient-centered care.

The role supports clinicians and families, performs point-of-care testing, documents results in EMR, and maintains infection control. Requires CMA/RMA certification and BLS prior to start.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting is required.
• Must hold CMA or RMA certification from a recognized body.
• American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider before start and maintained.
• Color vision testing required for point-of-care tests.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point-of-care tests and specimen collection as directed.
• Administers medications per provider using the 6 Rights, with documentation.
• Stocking supplies, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.
• Sets up patients for exams with notes, results and imaging.
• Communicates lab/imaging results to providers and patients in EMR.
• Follows infection control, OSHA and HIPAA policies in daily tasks.
• Maintains patient flow and supports registration, checkout, and scheduling.
• Answers calls and messages; acts as liaison between departments.
