Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified to provide comprehensive patient care during office visits, including intake, screenings, labs, and medication administration. The role emphasizes patient-centered care and strong customer service across providers.

Responsibilities include point-of-care testing, vital signs, medication administration within the six rights, and efficient EMR documentation. Candidates should hold CMA/RMA credentials and a current BLS card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting.
• CMA or RMA certification from AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NAHP/AMCA or other recognized bodies.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card required before start date and maintained.
• Pass colorblind testing to perform color-dependent POC tests.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point-of-care testing (urine dipstick, blood glucose) and takes vital signs.
• Administers medications per provider orders using the six rights; documentation and coding.
• Stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, and coordinating supply orders.
• Sets up patients for examinations and pre-visit work with notes, labs, and imaging.
• Performs POC tests and specimen collection as directed by the provider.
• Communicates test results and abnormalities to patients and providers via EMR/portal.
