Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a qualified Medical Assistant for in-office care. The role supports patient rooming, vital signs, med reconciliation, history taking, and screenings, while assisting physicians with procedures and maintaining lab workflow.

You will perform POCT and CLIA-waived tests per orders and ensure safe medication administration. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, managing patient messages, and maintaining a clean, compliant practice environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming tasks including vital signs, med reconciliation, history and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered and performs lab duties.
• Performs CLIA-waived tests and POCT per standing orders.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of medication administration.
