Methodist Health System is seeking a Surgical Coordinator in Mansfield, TX. This role serves as the patient contact point from registration and insurance verification through the surgeon consultation and surgical pathway to completion of medical clearances for insurance approval.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Very strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.
• Strong process orientation and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and openly with patients and staff.
• Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment.
• Be accountable for performance and patient experience.
• Initiate patients into the surgical pathway and schedule initial consults.
• Verify insurance and document in Practice Management System/EMR.
• Maintain surgery criteria current with providers and inform staff of updates.
• Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, and financial responsibilities to patients.
• Secure pre-determinations and pre-certifications for procedures.
• Prepare and submit letters of medical necessity and ensure clearances.
• Assist staff to deliver high-quality patient care as a team player.
