• Initiate patient into the surgery pipeline and schedule initial surgeon consultation.
• Explain insurance benefits, deductibles, coinsurance and medical testing needs.
• Secure pre-determinations and pre-certifications for procedures.
• Handle physician referrals ensuring proper entry in the EMR.
• Prepare and submit Letters of Medical Necessity and ensure clearances are obtained.
• Upon insurance approval, inform patient, collect fees, schedule pre-op, and set post-op appointment.
• Support patient education seminars and events with staff, and assist as needed.
